Global leaders, national leaders, business leaders or the leaders that exist in each home around the world.
Every once in awhile our leaders need some positive reinforcement that they are doing a good job and we appreciate their work.
Time to check-in
During the COVID-19 pandemic and when the toughest of events hit home, we almost instinctively look to our leaders and expect them to act, take care of their team and come out on top. And more often than not, they have done just that. But now, especially now it is time to sit them down, tap them on the back and say that we are here for them.
It could be the difference between them going one more round or caving under the pressure.
They need it now more than ever
The current crises won't go away in a week, a month or even a year. The impact we have felt may last multiple years into the future. Some leaders have lost homes, businesses, career positions they have worked over a decade for and most worrying, they have lost hope.
It is our job right now to give back the hope that they have given us for years.
I remember like it was yesterday when the CEO of my organisation and most recent place of employment the Western Bulldogs FC had spoken to the entire workforce in regards to COVID-19. It takes great optimism, leadership and courage to stand and stare at the faces of your entire team without all the facts and promise that you will do everything possible to keep the ship running well.
Thank the leaders in your life, right now you have the ability to take the weight of the world from their shoulders and give them the hope they need to continue their push into the future.
