A beginning, a middle and an end.
Story, stories are what we love, stories are what captivates us and stories are what we read for. No matter the book, genre or author. We loving reading because we are taken on a journey somewhere other than where we actually are. Our imagination ignites and our hearts do come alive.
In our world today few of us actually live in our imagination, a place where our dreams are made and our futures can be told. Albert Einstein was once quoted with saying that “Imagination is everything, it is the preview of life’s coming attractions.”
Reading has the ability to expand the reach of our imagination, to guide us through our journey, assisting us with the decisions we need to make every day.
It shatters some of our ignorance and should humble every reader, not because of the amount of information and knowledge that we gain, but because we realise how much we actually do not know. Reading will humble you when you use the knowledge you gain to empower others around you and not to impose your authority.
You do not need to read 1,000 books to benefit from the power that reading provides. But if you have the opportunity to read, whether 1 book or 10, about philosophy or the environment, read.
A final note: One day soon you will get to a point in your life where you will have your own story to tell. When you begin to tell your story, to whoever provides you with their attention, watch as what you say lights up that person from within. Whatever story you tell, they will make an impact.
